On Saturday, 5 January, The Magic Sponge will present for your musical enjoyment our weekly Saturday Music Showcase from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This week we are proud to have as our guest artists Christina from Ethiopia and RJ (Phnom Skor) from England as the duo Simmer. Simmer is a strictly no box, no style roots acoustic piano and guitar duo. Christina performs wonderful Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin and Etta James, as well as some really cool early blues ('Lil Green), and RJ Marshall is an independent artist, writer and musician in the style of Marc Bolan, Gram Parsons and John Lennon. He plays a lot of American folk and country as well as his own original material. With 25 years of songwriting experience he tells stories of life and love that shine a light through the darkness.
