13 Apr Boogie Noir in Concert

Electric Cello, Guitar and Dance
From 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
In our continuing quest to bring world class musical artists to Kampot, The Magic Sponge will proudly present the first Cello, Guitar and Modern Dance performance in our city’s history on Saturday, 20 April, with the outstanding performers known as Boogie Noir. Boogie Noir’s “Electric Boogaloo Tour” is a unique musical coupling of American guitarist Brin Wood, French cellist Cécile Lacharme, and Sreynoch Kuhn, a member of the Siem Reap based New Cambodian Artists project. Brin is a seasoned performer from California with a passion for classic rock music from the 1960s who brings a gutsy tornado of sound to the performance. Cécile is an expert classical and jazz musician from France who trained at the University of Hong Kong and the Pantheon-Assis II school in Paris and whose dynamic style of playing has been described as “electric” and “attack and perform”. Both performers will push the boundaries of their instruments to bring a wide variety of Rockabilly, Glam Rock and Blues to our beautiful Jasmine Garden venue. Additionally, Sreynoch Kuhn will be performing dance forms from ballet to contemporary accompanied by the striking tones of Cécile’s electric cello. This is going to be a concert unlike any concert ever in Kampot, so make plans to attend early for good seating. The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. and admission is free.
